The Odunze Incident

In Week 15 of the 2025 season, the first week of most fantasy football playoffs, Rome Odunze was listed active, hurt his foot in pregame warmups and was ruled out minutes before kickoff. Anyone who had started him took a zero. One fantasy player called it "the most diabolical beat I can remember."

This is the file: what happened, what the witnesses said, and how RosterBots would have stopped it.

The Commission's finding

Preventable

RosterBots checks your ESPN lineup every minute in the last ten minutes before each kickoff, and it can still swap a starter three minutes before kickoff. Odunze was ruled out four to seven minutes before kickoff. With Auto Protect, RosterBots would have benched him, started your best available bench player and sent you the receipt before the ball was in the air.

RosterBots works with ESPN leagues and acts on ESPN's own player status. Your replacement needs a game that hasn't started yet. Auto Protect and Agentic Protection make the swap on their own; One-Tap Alerts send you the fix to tap.
